Moons of Mars is an indie pop duo from Los Angeles. Brothers born and raised with an affinity for music, Mario Polanco is the lead vocalist, and writes while Giovan Polanco writes, produces, sings and plays guitar. The band released their first official EP ‘Free to Fly’ in April 2015, which got them their first radio single “Holiday” along with a good online buzz...bloggers noting their catchy songs and their signature falsetto melodies.
They have released a few singles, all of which have gained traction and received solid air play on LA’s premier alternative rock stations. “Poolside” was the first of the singles to debut on KROQ and was featured on Spotify’s Fresh Finds playlist garnering several thousands of new ears. “X” was a song that marked the end of 2015 and was the first Moons of Mars’ track to reach #1 on KROQ’s Locals Only with Kat Corbett.
Moons of Mars kicked off 2016 headlining School Night at Bardot in Hollywood as they celebrated the release and radio success of “X.” In the summer of 2016 the band released “Take It Easy” which has connected and reached the furthest on radio (KROQ, ALT 98.7FM and many other So Cal alternative radio stations) and landing on several Spotify playlists.
In December 2016, their release “Na Na Na” debuted at #1 on KROQ 106.7FM Locals Only chart, and continued there into 2017. They have continued to perform around So Cal and are always writing. Their recently released (June 2017) cover of Haddaway’s 90’s dance hit “What Is Love” was featured on Spotify’s Chill Vibes and Release Radar playlists.
The band recently signed a publishing deal and is hard at work preparing to release a new EP this fall. The much anticipated lead single “I’ll make my money dreaming” is now available for streaming and download everywhere.
